Thema: Help for the Brits

Hello from England.

I´m hoping that there may be a few English speakers on your forum, because naturally on our new English forum

http://mzskorpion.mybb3.org/portal.php

there don´t appear to be any German speakers - typical bloody English!

We´ve heard that there is a Skorpion festival in June and were hoping that you could let us have the details.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Jon

Whoops, many apologies, I sincerely hope that I haven´t offended anybody, I think I meant Dutch.

Sorry.

Hi,

What's wrong with the Dutch!!! I'm Dutch,

Wim

Wim, sorry, absolutely nothing.

I managed to confuse myself by assuming that this is a German site, so I was asking for help from the Germans.

Then, for some reason, I thought that it was a Dutch site, and that the Dutch speak Dutch and that I could have caused offence.

Checking properly, I now see that it´s a .de and therefore German.

Which makes me stupid.

Sorry.

Jon

The meeting from this skorpion-forum is from 11th of june to 14th, here:

The dutch single-riders have a meeting, too. Therefore you have to look here:

and I am american, so, between many englisch-speaking germans here, Wim and myself, there are no problems with your language here.
One of the english riders in the MZOG speaks german, tho I don't know if he is also in the group you name.
I am (Bill) tho I have not looked in for ages, I guess because it was pretty dead.

Hi

I going to try and get this right this time!

The English Skorp forum has a posting that there is a MZ meeting in Germany. It´s had 16 views and no replies.

I assume that this is because we stupid English don´t speak foreign languages.

I´ve spent quite a bit of time in France and, linguistically, survive. I´ve been to Holland once and without being able to speak a word of Dutch survived because so many Dutch people speak English. The same for Germany.

Thank you.

I may have been clumsy in my wording, but the only people I´m criticising are the English for being so lazy about learning other languages.

What I´d like is for someone to give us any details that you feel you can about this meeting.

Thanks to Ronald for the website and thanks to Bill for being around. I´ve read many of your emails in the Yahoo group and have learnt a lot from you.

I tend not to post cuz I have little knowledge to impart. Today I changed my chain and sprockets, but everything went as hoped and the drive is sooooo much smoother now.

The only point of interest was that I knocked over the Scottoiler oil bottle! Is that worth posting – nah!

Thanks for any help.

Jon

I doubt that it has anything to do with languages.

I haven't been in that forum for a long time because it won't let me in, despite being registered, so I wrote that I had forgotten my password but have also received no reaction to that, either, despite the notification for the forum mask that I would get an email shortly. That was a while ago. Not shortly.
Whatever.

The yearly meeting with be here:
http://www.gasthof-zum-sorpetal.de/
and it is from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday June 14. In Catholic parts of Germany, that Thursday is a holiday, Corpus Christi.
The SZR meeting will be at:
Much, Café Alte Schule,
http://www.cafe-alte-schule.de/
from Friday, June 19, to Sunday, June 21.
Reservations for the inns are necessary but camping is also possible.

Bill

Thanks Bill

Greatly appreciated.

I can´t confirm yet, but I hope to meet you and many others there.

Cheers all.

Jon
